VENOM uses his psychological talents to help his fellow Decepticons as often as he does to trip up the enemy. He supports all of his colleagues, especially Shrapnel, who he appreciates for helping him lead the Insecticons. Venom’s stinger can discharge fluids harmful to mechanical and organic life: corrosive acids, destructive catalysts, paralyzing toxins, and others, but can also dispense healing liquids such as painkillers and emergency mech-fluid. This stinger can penetrate 1/4 inch steel, but sometimes gets stuck and breaks off. In cicada mode, VENOM can fly at 15mph for up to 300 miles. He carries an electro-blaster and a defensive hand axe in his robot form. He is an expert at psychological warfare, and sometimes acts as field commander for Snaptrap’s Mayhem Suppression Squad.

Venom's team is active on Cybertron, as an independent force that occasionally performs missions for Shockwave on an individual basis as part of the Decepticon Mayhem Suppression Squad, counterpart to the Autobot Wreckers.

With the disappearance of Bug Bite, Venom helps lead the Mayhem Suppression Squad on Cybertron as Snaptrap's Executive Officer.
