The Venerable Ones are religious figures from Cybertron.
Venerable Ones

"What do you think about this, Villainus?"
"Nehhh! He-Man!"

The Venerable Ones are a group of minimally three cloaked Transformers that fulfill some religious duty in Cybertronian society. They're the kind of company that will utilize a lot of vague phrases to say they aren't going to be of the level of use you might have hoped them to be. And there's invariably one of them lurking around in the background looking suspiciously evil. What's up with that?

History[]

Marvel Generation 2 comics[]

The Venerable Ones live in a subterranean level of Cybertron.

Despite their occultic trappings, the Venerable Ones use SCIENCE! to cause visions: the natural harmonics of the underground infrastructure's geometry create a resonance which acts as a psychic amplifier. Optimus assures us that the science "sounds reasonable enough". The Power and the Glory

MUX Continuity[]

A while back, the Venerable Ones entered the tunnels beneath Valvolux in search of a rumored conduit to Primus. One of them was captured, and was forced by a group of Mutants to act as their enslaved priest. The cleric was eventually found by a group of Autobots, but by then he was in too bad of a shape to survive. After helping the Autobots out with as much information as he could, the acolyte was given a mercy killing by Backblast. He was later interred in a memory garden in Valvolux.

In 2020, other Venerable Ones were encountered by Dust Devil, Krystallos, and Starlock in the tunnels beneath New Harmonex.

Notes[]

  • "Venerable One" is what Optimus calls one of them. That could be their real name, it could not.
