Famous Japanese scientist Dr. Fujiyama Keiichi has joined clean-up efforts following the partial meltdown of the Bruce Nuclear Generating Station in Ontario, Canada. Using robots developed for the Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Plant in Japan, Fujiyama expects the project to proceed smoothly as long as he encounters no further Decepticon interference.

Two Decepticons had recently attacked the Bruce power plant, damaging the Bruce A 2 reactor and threatening a meltdown. Only the timely intervention of the Autobot Jetfire prevented a complete meltdown of the plant. A third Decepticon briefly entered the plant for unknown reasons, flying off just minutes later.

The loss of cooling water at reactor 2 was classified a level 3 on the International Nuclear Event Scale (serious incident) by Canadian authorities as of April 30. An evacuation order was initially issued to the people living within 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) of the plant, subsequently expanded to 10 km (6.2 mi). As of May 1 no news media have been allowed direct access to the plant.
