Captain Countdown appears in the cockpit of the Crusader, wearing a white space helmet that obscures his face. The shuttle interior is smoky, which is never a good sign. However, Countdown's voice is calm as he records the following:
"The shuttle Crusader is seriously damaged - I'm not sure if it's wise to touch it back down on Nebulos, although I could probably land it on Nebulos VI for repairs if necessary," Countdown reports.
"Hi-Tech tells me Captain Gears made it down to Nebulos safely, and the Nebulan doctors performed some medical magic to keep him alive," Countdown continues, shaking his head. "I don't know how, but I'm grateful.
"Thanks to the efforts of Robo-JOE and Sci-Fi, the warp gate over Nebulos is functioning and stable, and some of our team have already used the Veracity to get back. JOE, I'd like you to remain, if possible, at least until we get the Crusader functional again.
"Our former guest, Olin Zarak, has been safely ensconced in the secret resistance base. Hawk, did you want to bring him to Earth to keep him out of the Hive's reach, or should we leave him to the resistance's tender mercies?
"Word from Earth is that Sci-Fi is OK, but out of commission. We might need to recruit Duke or Roadblock to help fly missions between Earth and Nebulos if they've kept up their flight certifications.
"Also, apparently the Delta is trashed, so we may have to use the EDC station, the Tereshkova, as a stopover until the Delta is repaired. Duke is coordinating with Marissa Faireborn and the EDC about it now.
"I'll continue to affect repairs in orbit if possible, and set down on Neb VI if not," Countdown concludes. "As soon as we're capable, I'll start shuttling people back and forth from Earth to Nebulos as needed. Captain Countdown, out." The transmission ends.
