Sky-Byte is a Quintesson field commander.
SkyByteTimelines-boxart

Put your best knee forward.

Sky-Byte is a storyteller. A poet. A singer. A Quintesson. He leads the new-generation Sharkticons into battle, ruthlessly shredding all cars and robots on his way. He sees himself as a sophisticated warrior poet, the self-proclaimed "greatest shark around," composing haiku about the robots in disguise he's about to deactivate. The Quintessons have given Sky-Byte a devastating ability: he can unleash a "Tsunami Blaster" freeze attack from his chest, paralyzing his foes. Combined with an already impressive arsenal, air speed, and his Sharkticon hordes, he's a menace to everything in the air, land and sea. Were he more competent and less given to overblown theatrics that leave him vulnerable, he'd be one of Earth's greatest threats.

Flash of metal fins. Sharkticons tear foes to shreds. Die quick, Autobots.

History[]

Wings Universe continuity[]

Sky-Byte2

Flying Shark mode

Created as an agent of the Quintessons, Sky-Byte is the commander of the new generation of Sharkticons. Unlike his dim-witted troops, Sky-Byte exhibits a scientific and creative nature, whether it be by making new advances in technology or writing haiku to express himself during tense and exciting moments.

MUX continuity[]

In 2016, Sky-Byte was built in Earth's orbit by the Quintessons by Dealiticus, based on mental scans he took of Major Sebastian Bludd and singer Kimber Benton. He was created to replace Rend, who had been killed by Major Bludd.

Notes[]

  • Although Sky-Byte's design in the Robots in Disguise comic is not exactly the same as his namesake's, it is based on it. [1]
  • Generation 2: Redux Sky-Byte wears the insignia of the Beast Wars Predacons. On the other hand, in the Generation 1 cartoon (which is the basis for the Wings Universe continuity), the Predacons were originally presented as being under the command of the Quintessons, like Sky-Byte is. So he might be both kinds of Predacon at once.
  • On the MUX, Sky-Byte is just a straight-up Quintesson second-generation Sharkticon, albeit a crazy one.
