Cobra Vipers are the guys on the bottom rung of the Cobra ladder, but that doesn't mean they don't know how to make you sweat. Especially the Shock-Vipers, who love to turn up the heat. They're the guys that want nothing more than a tank of gas and an open flame, especially when they can aim the resulting fireball at the GI Joe team that's standing in the way of corrupt, evil plans. They are highly trained in the art of combustion, explosion and ignition for many different environments and materials, which makes them very fiery foes capable of small devastation and large infernos. They consider their fire-making devices to be works of art, so they get really steamed when GI Joe comes along and throws cold water on their fiery inventions.

In 2022, the Shock-Vipers' field commander, Clay Moore, was found burned to death in his own quarters. The technique involved in his death pointed to it being done by his own Shock-Vipers.
