Despite his large, blockish appearance, RV is very friendly and gentle. He likes to help in any way he can, and is very protective of his friends. He does not like to take part in combat, but he will fight if he needs to, especially if a friend is threatened. As a Flying Winnebago, he acts as a transport. Being a recreational vehicle, RV can carry passengers comfortably across land. However, he also possesses powerful engines which make him able to fly both in and out of planetary atmospheres. To add to his space flight ability, he has large FTL drives that make him capable of inter-galactic travel. Due to RV's passive nature, he is very poor in combat. However, he is able to stand up under heavy fire. Also, his devotion to his friends makes him sometimes unreliable in terms of duty, as he would go out of his way to help a friend in desperate circumstances.

- That foul beast has left our sovereign shores. A riot is an ungly thing... undt, I tink, that it is chust about time ve had vun. We went into the canyon. It was just like shooting womp-rats back home. But then that slippery devil squeezed through our grasp. I'll call that a win. Then they interrupted our regularly scheduled programs! The eight-legged-freak caught the 3:10 to Yuma and scoppered. All in all, I'd call that a win. You can't stop the signal, Mal.
<Translation: RV led an angry mob, including Sit-Com and Benin-Jeri down into the canyons to hunt the Lurking Terror. It turned out to be a mecha-spider. His friends crashed the television broadcasts, and he got away in the confusion. At least we managed to drive it away. And we got our TV back!>
