Junklogo

The name or term Junkion refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Junkion (disambiguation).
The Planet of Junk

The Planet of Junk

The Junkions exist on the Planet of Junk, but visit Earth regularly for religious and entertainment purposes. The Planet of Junk (sometimes referred to as Junkion, after the Junkions that reside there) is the shell of a larger planet that broke apart, combined with the integrated ships that brought the first s to the destroyed world.

Government[]

Junkion symbol

Per the history of the Junkions, regularly acknowledged as an exodus from Cybertron to escape The Great War - it would make sense to abandon the City State/Feudalism of Cybertron's Overlords past, turning from notions that would follow a method like the Autobot Monarchy (the Matrix being, quite literally a god's selection of a leader) and a definite resistance to the Decepticon style of Autocratic Dictatorship.

Because the Junkions are made up of neutrals as well as former Autobots and Decepticons, at their core, the bad taste of those leaderships would have logically created a new adoption for what would be considered the best possible from Junkion perception.

What developed was a Decentralized Meritocratic system of government. Clans/houses of Junkions of similar mindset, caste, or whatever else would have drawn them together. Most clans contain at least a sample of each caste. Specifically, to avoid the possibility of developing into competing houses/clans, which would have just led to the City-State borders of the First through Third Cybertronian Wars and that eventually led to the rise of Megatron and the Great War that followed.

Having members of each caste guarantees a clash of personalities, priorities and preferences which would have guaranteed a melting pot of ideas with regular disagreement. This would be the basis of evolution, overcoming obstacles by developing means to adapt to them. Thus, strengthening the culture overall.

It would also mean that clans would not bend to any other clan. Inter-Clan conflict would be acknowledged, even accepted to some degree. But there would need to be at least a council if not a singular figure who could command unity from the disparate sub-factions of the Junkions. Often it is a single figure, most recently Wreck-Gar, who led because he was the best choice. He was impartial. His focus was the continuation and survival of the Junkions.

The Junkion clans have their own agendas, behavior, allies, and enemies within Junkion society. The Junkions tend to operate independently and to outsiders it could look like abject anarchy. But Wreck-Gar was Junk'Alor (Literal translation: Chieftain of Junkion) and Junk'Alor was the one figure that the Junkions agreed had full authority if the situation warranted. Which was not often at all.

Mand'Alor's authority extended to adjudicate when a clan, or individual, was a threat to the culture as a whole and little often else - until a Crusade was called. Crusades being defenses of Junkion, one of its allies, or even a monumental quest to retrieve something. Most often a Crusade was called for conquest of a new world, or to pay retribution to a figure that had threatened the Junkions as a whole. Junkions bicker, work together, and go their own way.

Until something threatens them as a whole - then they come together as one and often with a single leader who is largely a figurehead until the situation demands that they aren't any longer. In recent times, that was Wreck-Gar - who remained the Junkion Leader once they'd been dragged into The Great War.

History[]

Known History[]

The Planet of Junk (sometimes referred to as Junkion, after the Junkions that resides there) is the shell of a larger planet that broke apart, combined with the integrated ships that brought the first Transformers to the destroyed world.

In 2019, the Dominicons assisted Benin-Jeri and Dust Devil in splitting the fractured planet further with a series of bombs, enabling them to free the Requiem Blaster from Junkion's center.

True History[]

Cybertron

Cybertron

The Junkions are refugees of the Cybertronian war and escaped salvage/construction bots from the time of the Quintesson occupation. Most evidence points towards the latter, since they are very impressionable, and love to collect garbage and build things from it.

The Junkions are descendants of a group of Autobots, Decepticons, and independents that fled Cybertron millions of years ago during the Cybertron Civil War. Discovering the shell of a broken-apart world that had been used as a dumping ground by other races for millennia, the proto-Junkions settled down, figuring no one would fight for the literal wasteland.

At first the refugees were at peace, joining together their small fleet of ships to form a new surface for the junk world, and using their significant engineering skills to repair a lot of the discarded technology for future trade. They began to view the new “Planet” of Junk as their new home and began defending it from outside incursion with the tenacity of junkyard dogs.

However, as their new civilization developed, old grudges and prejudices started to emerge. Former Autobots and Decepticons disagreed with how the small world should be run, and ancient battle lines began to be re-formed. Desperate to avoid another outbreak of hostilities, the ruling council of Junkion decided to take an extreme measure – a community-wide memory wipe.

Deciding the vestiges of Cybertron culture was to blame for the renewed hostilities, the Junkion supreme programmers worked in secret to develop a computer virus that would wipe out all memory of Cybertron, the Autobots, the Decepticons, and the war. Junkions would be given a clean state, whether they wanted it or not.

The ruse was successful, and the racial memories of the Junkions were wiped except for a chosen few council members who were tasked with keeping the Junkions out of the Cybertronian War should contact ever be reestablished with their former home world. Eventually most of those council members died out, leaving ever fewer with the secret of the Junkions’ origins.

The Junkions continued to exist, but without any culture or history. When the Planet of Junk started receiving television signals from Earth, twenty light-years away, they latched onto them, hungrily absorbing Earth culture like a dry sponge, filling the gap left by the Junkion Elders’ virus.

Their impressionable nature led to a total restructuring of their society after discovering their homeworld, Junk, was receiving transmissions from a planet several lightyears away. These transmissions were signals from Earth television stations that were bleeding off into space.

Eventually some Junkions decided to set out to find the source of these wonderful images from the sky…

MUX History[]

The Junkions eventually used their considerable technical skill to build a spaceship from the scrap that composes their home planet and since then visit Earth regularly for religious and entertainment purposes.

Although they lean towards the cause of the Autobots, the Junkion leader, Wreck-Gar, is doing his best to keep the Junkions out of the Cybertronian civil war. However, when humans lives or media are threatened the Junkions have been known to come to the rescue in a display of heroic violence that isn't suitable for younger viewers.

In 2005, an Autobot shuttle containing Ultra Magnus, Perceptor, Springer, Arcee, and Daniel Witwicky was damaged in a battle with Megatron. It was piloted to Junkion for repairs. The Decepticons tracked them down to kill Ultra Magnus. The native Junkions revealed themselves, deemed the Autobots intruders, and attacked them. The battle halted when Hot Rod, Kup and the Dinobots landed on the planet, and subsequently made peace with the Junkions using the universal greeting.

In 2007, Benin-Jeri revealed himself to be a former Autobot, and pledged to Optimus Prime that he would help advance Autobot-Junkion relations.

Later, the core of Junkion was discovered to be the Requiem Blaster, which was needed to destroy the Fallen. In 2019, the Dominicons assisted Benin-Jeri and Dust Devil in splitting the fractured planet further with a series of bombs, enabling them to free the Requiem Blaster from Junkion's center.

When the Blaster was removed, the shell that is Junkion started to break apart, and is currently held together by giant chains keeping its various pieces precariously connected.

Alternative Universes[]

Alt-Junkion[]

In an alternate universe, Unicron was destroyed by Rodimus Prime in 2006. His head landed on the Planet of Junk, which he took over, creating new heralds and sending them into our universe in preparation for a takeover. Bot World[]

In the Autobot-dominated universe, Junkions are salvage robots that escaped during the war against Quintesson occupation. When found by the growing Autobot Federation, the Planet of Junk signed up, only to find its people treated like second-class citizens and assigned only menial tasks on Cybertron.

Decepticon World[]

In the Decepticon-dominated universe, Junkions are Transformers who fled Cybertron during Megatron's initial campaign of terror. A few brave/foolhardy Junkions returned to help fight the Decepticons, but most were killed. The remainder hide underground with the rest of the Autobots.

Cobra World[]

In the 1940s, the Planet of Junk started receiving television signals first broadcast from Earth decades before.

After 50 years of absorbing Earth culture remotely, in 2005 the Junkions launched a ship to search for the broadcast source of the mysterious all-powerful Sponsor. Arriving on Earth, some Junkions joined G.I. Joe in battling the dark forces of Cobra, while others resisted getting involved.

That same year Unicron destroyed Cybertron, and, not finding what the god was looking for, dispatched its agents to scour the cosmos searching for something that is still hidden on Earth. The next planet destroyed and eaten was Junkion, stranding the last of their race on Earth.
