Ottoman Confederacy (SG)

The Ottoman Confederacy is a great power on Earth from the "Shattered Glass" universe.

Along with the Soviets and the British, the Ottoman Confederacy is one of three great powers capable of challenging the hegemony of the United States of America. They are in this world's "nuclear club", yet President Colton considers them the least likely threat, owing to the professed pacifism of its leader, Abdul Fakkadi.

The Ottoman Empire contains 29 provinces and numerous vassal states, with various types of autonomy.

With Constantinople as its capital city, it has vast control of lands around the eastern Mediterranean.

History

Pre-MUX History

• 1990 - Citing economic interest, the United States stages a massive invasion of Al-Alawi, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Iraq. Human rights leaders, specifically those in China, condemn the act which included the jailing and eventual exile of Iraqi leader and Nobel Peace Prize recipient Saddam Hussein.
• 1991 - In response to US aggression, remaining Arabian countries band together to form the new Ottoman Empire, with the purpose of peaceful defense against enemy invasion.

MUX History

The Ottoman Confederacy has thus far kept out of the affairs of the Transformers and the United States, aside from its quiet support of Cobra through funds funnelled through Destro.

However, in 2012 Motormaster brought Professor Arkeville to the Ottoman Confederacy in an attempt to seek help from its ruler, Abdul Fakkadi.

Notes

• In our non-mirror Quadwal universe, the Ottoman Sultanate held, at its peak, much of Southeastern Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa (where Carbombya lies in the non-canon third-season G1 animated series). How much of this territory is comparably held by the Ottoman Confederacy in Shattered Glass is nigh-impossible to determine (given the differences in geography and history that we have so far glimpsed), but the mentions so far suggest a (very rough) analogy.

• Similarly, we can likely presume that the House of Osman was important in some historical capacity (as the state is named for them), but they are presumably not in charge now (owing to the mentions of Fakkadi as President).

Beyond that, well.... we don't really know (or can safely suppose) much else. However, our MUX doesn't have to stuck to Shattered Glass comic canon, so feel free to make something up!
