Transformers Universe MUX
Here I go again on my throne.

Here I go again on my throne.

Liege Maximo, once known as Qui Decipitur among the Thirteen, stands as a formidable figure in Cybertronian history. Crafted by Primus as the antithesis to the noble Primes, Maximo embodies the essence of cunning and manipulation, wielding the enigmatic Liegian Darts as his chosen artifact. While Prima and Megatronus were forged for battle, Maximo's purpose was rooted in safeguarding Cybertron through guile, deception, and stratagem. Among the Thirteen, he held the mantle of strategist alongside Alpha Trion, Quintus, and Micronus.

Devoid of access to the Well of All Sparks, Liege Maximo devised a new method of Transformer reproduction, birthing soulless legions to serve his malevolent ambitions. Commanding a fleet of Seekers, remnants of his Cybertronian past, Maximo reigns over his empire with a mix of fondness for his creations and disdain for his origins. To him, the term 'Cybertronians' signifies a new era of Transformer existence, distant from the ashes of their former homeworld, a testament to his enduring legacy as the Deceiver and Emperor of Infinite Evil.

Evil... is INFINITE!

Qui Decipitur

Qui Decipitur

Liege Maximo was one of the Thirteen created by Primus. Originally named Qui Decipitur, he is a master manipulator whose artifact is the Liegian Darts. Unlike Prima and Megatronus, who were built to fight, Decipitur was conceived with a different purpose: to protect Cybertron from the Quintessons, and later Unicron, through cunning, deceit, and trickery.  Maximo was one of the strategists of the Thirteen, alongside Alpha Trion, Quintus, and Micronus.

After the slave revolt the freed Primus’s creations from the Quintessons, Megatronus took the military robots under his wing, teaching them values of glory and honor, and instilling a sense of purpose: to conquer Cybertron and then spread outward, bringing peace and security to the rest of the universe. Megatronus saw himself as leader of this grand effort, unwilling to hide in the shadows with the rest of the Thirteen.

Decipitur had other ideas, however.  He infiltrated Megatronus’s war machines, teaching them new concepts – manipulation, subversion, and treachery – conflicting core values that divide their descendants to this day.  To needle his brother Megatronus, he convinced this group to name themselves after him, calling themselves the Decepticons (then lying about the origin).  Later, Decipitur claimed the group for himself before abandoning them.

The machinations of Liege Maximo eventually led to the apparent death of Solus Prime and the exile of Megatronus. Once the memory of Megatronus was erased, Liege Maximo claimed the Decepticons, and later Megatron himself, were descended from the Liege Maximo line.  However, his role in the ‘death’ of Solus alienated him from the rest of the Thirteen, who had accepted his “trickster god” persona until then, but now felt he had crossed the line.

Leaving Cybertron for greener pastures, Decipitur created a new empire centered around the Hub, a network of planetoids called the Cybertronian Empire that exists in the outer fringes of known space.  Setting himself up as Emperor of this new domain, Decipitur declared himself Liege Maximo and began to establish a new persona: one of pure, infinite evil: the natural counterbalance to all good.

Without access to the Well of All Sparks, Maximo created a new method of Transformer reproduction, one that provides him with limitless soulless cannon fodder.  For command officers, Maximo maintains a small fleet of Seekers he brought with him from Cybertron – a design of his own creation he remains fond of to this day, even as he feels growing disdain for the rest of the planet of his birth.

For Maximo, ‘Cybertronians’ represent a new generation of Transformer life, distant from their past dumpster planet.

MUX History[]

When the Cybertronian Empire started detecting radio signals from Earth, they sent a scout ship to investigate. Unfortunately for the scouts, the ship was boarded by Mecannibals and the crew killed and eaten, although not before sending a distress signal back to the Hub.

The Cybertronian Empire scout ship continued its mission on autopilot, arriving in the Solar System in 2000 and entering Earth's orbit, where it was found by the Transformers stationed there. After killing most of the Mecannibals, the Transformers discovered the ship was sent by someone called Liege Maximo, but as of 2020 don't know who or what that is.

Meanwhile, Liege Maximo has received the distress signal from the lost ship, and plans to send more...

Legend[]

'Qui Decipitur' was a legendary member of the Thirteen, known primarily as a trickster god. Some say he was neither fully good nor evil since his main aim was always to create chaos. Decipitur was represented as the companion of the great demigods Prima and Megatronus, helping them with his clever plans but sometimes causing embarrassment and difficulty for them and himself. He was blamed by some for the death of Solus Prime, having manipulated the situation in which she was killed, and forced to flee.

Notes[]

  • "Liege Maximo" is this character's title or rank, while his proper name remained unknown. Jhiaxus has a similar title, Liege Centuro.
  • Simon Furman cryptically hinted in comments on his blog that the Liege Maximo would make a return in 2008 in IDW's comics. It didn't happen.
