Secret Bunker - Undisclosed Location

Starlock

Starlock was sat up in the bunker, new couch added and all, she was at the computer in thought, learning just today of Twidget and the ship which.. honestly left her a bit surprised.. A ship could definitely allow for a lot more mobility, wasn't something she ever really considered before.

Chromedome climbs down from the surface. "Hey, there!" he calls out in a friendly manner. "Good news!" He approaches Starlock, but then gets immediately distracted by the terminal at which she's sitting. "Oh, how's the new setup going? I installed some new Grerrader chips in the plasma processor, so that should give you more computing power," he says cheerfully.

Starlock looks up and smiles. "Well, It's working great, heh, was a bit lost in thought, how goes things?" She asks as she leans against the chair.

GAME: Chromedome PASSES an INTELLIGENCE roll of Average difficulty.

Chromedome pulls himself back to the present. "Oh, right! Yeah! I have good news!" He sits on the edge of the desk, looking down at Starlock. "Heard after testing, Scales got I think 10 usable freedom discs. That's what I'm calling them - 'freedom discs.' Cool, right? All we need to do now is figure out how to lure the Combaticons out in the open - or visit them in their base on Earth," he adds as an afterthought.

Chromedome nods again thoughtfully. "Maybe have them meet someplace public they'll trust, like Th' Bar? Then have one of our combiner teams outside for when we're finished, and they leave? Might be dangerous if we offer them shanix and don't have it to pay, though. Maybe we offer them a big job at a small payout, so they'll reject it?"

"Maybe, it would be more stealth oriented, have someone disguised going around and slapping them onto their backs." Starlock muses in thought. "Encore's would be a good spot... though would be bad if a fight broke out if someone got caught.." She'd muse, leaning back in her seat.

Chromedome considers. "The Rollout occurred to me, but I'm not sure Encore would want to be involved in that kind of subterfuge. If it got out that Cons were being lured to The Rollout to be targeted, even for their own good - I wouldn't want to bring that down on his place of business, unless we got his buy-in."

Starlock clicks her jaw. "Yeaaah I agree, feels a bit dirty, still an open place would be good." She'd he, tapping her fingers on the consol. "Other idea was to provoke them, but then that does lean into a fight.."

"Right," Chromedome agrees. "We might want to provoke them to merge, but ideally AFTER we've placed the discs. Again, there's Th' Bar, and I'm sure other neutral establishments across Cybertron. Maybe we should rope in Hubcap, although again, that might also ruin his reputation." Chromedome sighs. "I'm not that good at this part," he admits.

"Oh, even better!" Chromedome says enthusiastically. "I... I mean if you want, I could hit Brawl, and run. My antipathy to the Decepticons is ALSO well-known, Ghost aside. I could yell something about the Institute, hit him, 'realize' what I'd done, and run... and then we have a combiner team waiting outside."

"Well, if we want to keep this secret, the fewer the Bots the better. And I can pretend to be overenergized - I can be there beforehand, 'drinking', and then I see you negotiating with them and cause a scene." Chromedome hms. "Now, which team should be outside? And should we tell them what's up?"

Starlock thinks. "...The Protectibots, mostly cause the Combaticons have a rivalry with them." Starlock points out. "There a few that know, and maybe able to help." Starlock adds to Chromedome with a smile.

Chromedome nods slowly. "OK. Can you talk to First Aid about it, then? Maybe have him talk to Hot Spot? I'm sure Blades and Hot Spot won't have a problem with engaging the Combaticons, and Groove and FAid might be willing to go with the 'help their freedom' angle. As for Streetwise... I dunno," Chromedome shrugs.

Starlock hmmms. "Yeaah, and a open area would just put them on guard and watching their backs for anyone trying to slap 'em on 'en." Starlock grumbles. "We'd have to lure them out of any bar after, like.. someone punches brawl, lures them out, call the combiner team in once they do to the area?" Starlock asks.

Chromedome brightens. "Ooh! OK. That could work. Maybe uh... you could call them and offer them a job. Everyone knows you're wishy-washy when it come to the Autobot cause, so they'll believe you would work with the Cons. You offer them something BIG. Plead with them to do something they wouldn't want to actually do, and then offer them not enough shanix."

"Using royal you." Starlock quips. "Doesn't have to be you, just someone has to do it, just using you as an example.. fairly i think everyone would be confused if you did it." She'd chuckle. "But that could be an option, should always have back up plans case it doesn't work."

I'm sure Blade and Hot Spot won't have a problem with engaging the Combaticons, and Groove and FAid might be willing to go with the 'help their freedom' angle. As for Streetwise... I dunno," Chromedome shrugs.

Starlock taps her chin. "That could work, and it has to be Brawl that's hit, cause /he's/ the one they'll need to chase down, because he'll want to punch the person back." Starlock chuckles. "Hopefully." She says with knitted ridges. "Short fuse, long memory... I could, I do have a few cloaks and my holomatter to use to likely disguise myself too."

"First Aid already knows, so, this should be easy, he can't exactly /hide/ what i am doing from the others." She'd smile weakly but nods and takes a vent. "So.. that's the plan?" she asks.

"OK," Chromedome says, hopping back to his feet and rubbing his brown hands together. "I'll talk to Scales and pick up the discs. You talk to the Protectobots and get them on board. Do you know any sneaky types that can lurk in the bar and tag our Combatty friends with the discs? If not, I can try when I cause a scene, but... help might be better.

"...Khamsin" Starlock says without too much thought and a nod. "...Um, before you go, can i also ask you something..?"

Chromedome thinks over Starlock's choice a moment, and then nods. "Sure. Ask away," he says. He leans against her terminal again. He crosses his arms, looks uncomfortable, uncrosses them. He glances at Starlock's computer again, fighting Transformer Attention Deficit Syndrome to try to focus on whatever Starlock wants to say.

Starlock also looked a bit uncomfortable, before taking a deep vent, and sighed, rubbing her arm. "Uh.. Hot Rod said /a lot/ of the rank and file don't.. like me for what I am doing.. is.. that true?" she asks, glancing away.

Chromedome lowers his optic ridge and shakes his head. "What do I know or care about what the rank and file think? You shouldn't either. You can be a bit shrill at times, but who cares? Are you a good medic? Yes. Do you do your job? Yes. Are you a good person? Yes. So, the heck what others think - unless it's Prime or Commander One, and then we're in trouble," he adds.

Starlock smiles a bit and nods. "Yeah.. yeah that's true." She'd chuckle and sigh. "Alright, I was just.. it was getting to me." She'd smile. "Kinda why I keep avoiding Iacon, just fed into all that." She'd huff. "Thank you again."

"No problem," Chromedome says, giving Starlock an awkward punch on the arm. "You ever need to talk, well - I have Froid's radio frequency," he laughs. "No, I'm kidding. You can talk to me. Not many do, so I appreciate the social interaction, to be honest," he half-jokes. "Anything else you need before I head back?"

Starlock grins and giggles. "All good, been working on all this.. oh Twidget told me about the ship too, that was a surprise."

"Oh, yeah. What about the ship? I still need to help her with that. I made a promise and haven't kept it yet. Just too much going on." Chromedome makes a mental note to add that to his organized to-do list before he forgets again. "Were you thinking of using it in some way to help with the plan?"

"Even if not now, It will have a use, I can guarantee that... That's.. something really useful, regardless." She'd chuckle.

Chromedome nods. "Cool. Maybe we can chrome it out and call it the Dome," he jokes. "I tried to get people to call me 'The Dome' for a while. It didn't work. Mostly I get 'Chrome'. Or worse, 'Chromey.' Even 'Chromer' would be better." Chromedome continues to ramble for a while, and then suddenly says. "OK! Goodbye! I'm glad we have a plan!"

Starlock takes a vent, relaxing and gives a two fingered salute.

Chromedome nods. "Remember, as I always say -- A battle plan is only as good as its programmer. Luckily, you have me." He bows deeply. "M'lady," he chuckles, and heads out, back up the ladder to return to Iacon.
