Gulfs are Quintesson Seaclones.
Gulf masterforce

Gulfs (ガルフ Garufu) are devoid of sentience, like all the Seaclones commanded by Turtler, serving only as mindless mass-produced drone warriors designed to overwhelm their opponents by numbers. Among the endless legions of the Seacons, the Gulfs are the most resistant to the pressures and temperatures of the ocean depths, allowing them to dive the deepest and search the ocean bed for resources.

The Gulfs can combine with their fellow Seaclones to form King Poseidon.

History

The Gulfs were part of the Earth invasion force under Snaptrap. After Snaptrap's defeat at the hands of F-5, the Gulfs were reassigned to Turtler.

In November of 2020, Blood's crew, supported by a Gulf, attacked the Japanese Cruise Ship <Aoi Sangosho>, but were driven off by members of G.I. Joe.

Toys

Super-God Masterforce

  • Galph (Seacon, 1988)
    • Japanese ID number: D-316
    • Accessories: Left & right rifles, "Tripod Rifle", connector, weapon stand base
File:Skalorg1toy.jpg
"Galph" (as his name is misspelled on-package) transforms into a pink and blue robotic coelacanth-monster. The figure is armed with two blue rifles which can mount on its back, around its dorsal fin, in creature mode, and wielded in his robot-mode hands. The guns also plug together to form the barrel of Gulf's third mode; an artillery emplacement that mounts on top of a stand formed from three individual components. The central piece of this stand, the "Tripod Rifle", can also be wielded as a weapon by robot-mode Gulf.
Gulf combines with his fellow Seacons to form King Poseidon. Although he nominally forms the right leg of the super-robot, as a Scramble City-style combiner, Gulf can form any limb for King Poseidon (or any other combiners that use the Scramble City-style design). Like the other small Seacons, Gulf can also be used in his artillery mode as a hand-weapon by King Poseidon.
This mold was released concurrently in Hasbro markets as Skalor, with no notable differences between the two. The toy was later redecoed into Beast Wars II Coelagon, and then back into Skalor, with a new coloration for the Transformers Collectors' Club exclusive Piranacon giftset.
  • King Poseidon (Gift set, 1988)
    • Japanese ID number: D-318
Unlike the Hasbro Seacon box-set, which excludes Nautilator, the Takara King Poseidon box-set comes with all six members of the team; Turtler, Gulf, Kraken, Lobclaw, Overbite and Tentakil. The individuals are identical to their individually boxed releases.

Notes

G1Gulf cardart

He's brimming with excitement.

  • None of the Masterforce Seacons were ever depicted in robot mode in the cartoon or manga. The toy's package art is the only known "fictional" depiction of a Gulf in robot mode.
