Eneraetherology. The word brings groans to scientists of both sides. The completely useless and frivolous science of energy interpretation has long been dismissed as hokum and superstition, and the ranks of these specialists are few and far between. The navigator/pilot Folly is one of these strange individuals who has devoted her life to one of science's missteps.

History[]

Canonical/Pre-MUX/Theme History:[]

Folly is an Eneraetherologist, she follows a dead branch of science that had considered the idea that different types of energy has its own things it wants to do, when left to its own devices. This went a bit into fringe science when the idea came up that perhaps most forms of energy are sentient if not sapient in its own way. Like, plasma energy might be alive in the same way that the Matrix of Leadership is alive in its own way.

Folly was built during the war to be a Navigator, and given the alt mode of an Armillary Sphere. ( See it here ) its a star globe that keeps track of astrogation data, she also returns to this mode to interpret eneraetherolgical data.

She's avoided most of the front line of the war, and has probably been repeatedly forgotten about as she does her day to day work, asking power drills or plasma torches what they'd rather do, and fielding results.

Folly is rather simple for her wants, she's mostly just wanting to look out for other people, do what she can to help, and maybe, just maybe use her skillset to help people out...without getting too much praise of course, that'd be dreadful!

Hmm-hah is Folly's anxiety noise, you'll hear it more than likely.

Folly has a Dumb Luck skill that allows her a second reroll in Skill Challenges.

Folly seems immune to falling damage...so that's good?

Folly has entered scenes being drug by a bus, falling out of crates, falling out of the sky, caught on doors, crawling out of trash chutes, and being attacked by the 'grabby plant' in the garden. She never really elaborates on the 'why' of it.

When Folly does fall down, and her rings pop off, they make the Sonic ring noise.

It has been hinted at that Folly's Made-To-Order status is falsely attributed to her.

She has a vested interest in seeing a galactic ley line.

2020[]

Jul 12 - The Assemblae Cybertronae[]

Folly appears on screen, already hyperventilating from anxiety. The camera feed cuts. It starts back up, with her frozen still staring at the camera. The feed cuts again. The feed returns with her looking off screen, anxious, she shakes her head and reaches for the camera to turn it off again.

A text message is attached.

Junket Here. I was asked to transcribe a message for the faction. Folly and some others, Dust Devil and Hot Rod, went out to the big manufactorum for reasons I couldn't get out of her, apparently there's a small service access that still leads to a non-destroyed part of it. They came back with some tools, computer parts and unidentifiable things that are 'from the Second Age' whatever that means. They'd like someone to examine the scraps and see if there's any merit to going back as a more full blown excursion.

Folly has written a sixty-seven-page analysis about Vector Sigma and Eneraetherology that boils down to 'If the entire planet's energy flow is Vector Sigma's to control, please apologize to it on my behalf for the one time I left my hab slab turned on too long if you come across the legendary supercomputer.'

2022[]

April 7 - "Eneraetherology and Twinglies" - Some 'con dame's asked Backblast to escort her into Autobot territory, namely Iacon and the Iacon plains looking for a 'Hot Spot', and not a discoteque or a bar either. Not even a Protectobot! Folly joins the safari, offering her own unique and very introspective knowledge.

2023[]

Apr 12 - Re: Sleeping Sickness[]

For completely unbeknown reasons, Folly's recovery slab was found rolling down Iacon Medical's hallways, with her still sound asleep. Camera activity just doesn't explain what happened.

Apr 24 - Re: Sleeping Sickness[]

Folly's rehabilitation slab is utterly covered with tribbles. It's been fully cleaned off several times now, and more keep appearing.

May 07 - Seen in the medical bay[]

Nobody can explain why, but Folly's rehabilitation slab is now upside down on the ceiling of the medical bay, out of reach of the tribbles, much to their dismay.

Jul 01 - Folly report[]

Folly was found, still asleep, and with no signs of having woken up, at a console. Nothing written suggests anything of any help, and yet somehow her efficiency rating as a scientist has gone up during this time.

December 31 - "New Years Revolutions" - A night of new beginnings and new friendships.

2024[]

Mar 13 - "Section 43-A Report" - A text report that confirms grid 43-A of Iacon has 'mostly pleased energy' in it
