Florida is a state located in the southeastern region of the United States, bordering Alabama to the northwest and Georgia to the north. It was the 27th state admitted to the United States. Much of the land mass of the state is a large peninsula with the Gulf of Mexico to the west, and the Atlantic Ocean to the east.

It is nicknamed the "Sunshine State" because of its generally warm climate—subtropical in many regions of the state, with true tropical climate in the far southern portions near Key West. The state has a few large urban areas, a number of smaller industrial cities, and many small towns. The United States Census Bureau estimates that the state population was 18,328,340 in 2008, ranking Florida as the fourth most populous state in the U.S. Tallahassee is the state capital and Miami is the largest metro area. Residents of Florida are properly known as "Floridians".

Some famous Floridians include: Plies, and Tim Tebow. Cape Canaveral (9,509) gave us Payload. Home of the Kennedy Space Center, it's on the Atlantic coast, about 45 miles east of Orlando. Pathfinder was born on Key West (25,031), at the west extreme of the Florida Keys at the state's southern tip. Blowtorch hails from Tampa (317,647), on the north side of Tampa Bay on the Gulf coast. On the panhandle, Panama City (37,085) is the home of Sergeant Blaster. One hundred miles to the west, and 15 miles east of the border with Alabama, is Pensacola (54,897), where Sergeant Skydive was born. MUX player doomflower currently lives there. - September 7, 2009 - Tsunami Hits Florida. Geothermic disturbances off the coast of Florida threaten its eastern coastline. Given early enough warning by Typhoon, the Autobots and G.I. Joe pitch in to help, minimizing damages and loss of life. Unmanned oil rig belonging to G.B. Blackrock destroyed by Wheeljack to save beachfront civilians and property.
In April of 2011 Electro and Skywarp blacked out Miami City, Florida.

- August 18, 2011 Global Flooding Update - Florida completely submerged underwater.
Later in 2011 Florida was completely submerged underwater, as a result of Megatron melting the world's icecaps. As many residents as possible (including Doomflower, we hope) were evacuated to the Ark and states on higher ground. Since 2012 the state has slowly recovered, with help from the Autobots, Cobra, and G.I. Joe.
