Growing up so close to the Fort Knox Army base, Cold Front grew up interested in armored vehicles. He studied Army strategies and tactics dating back to the Korean War before enlisting at age eighteen. Qualified to drive any arctic tank, Cold Font worked with the G.I. Joe team before it was shut down in 1994.

In 2011, Cold Front was assigned to the strike force targeting the Decepticons' Antarctic weapons platform. In 2014, he was sent to Frusenland. In 2016, he was recalled to the Pit.
