CAPT. GRID-IRON was quarterback of the West Point football team and graduated in the top ten of his class. It can be said in his favor that he passed up an appointment to the U.S. Army War College for a conventional infantry command at the company level. It was this determination to be "where the action is" that brought him to the attention of the G.I. Joe organization. The other G.I. Joes were a bit put off by this West Pointer when he first showed up, but he turned out to be bearable to the point that nobody tried to 'lose' him on his first mission. In fact, if he would only stop trying so hard to be likable and stop his bad John Wayne impression, they might let him play quarterback at the annual G.I. Joe Fish Fry Football Game.

CAPT. Terrence "GRID-IRON" Lydon was born in Evergreen Park, Illinois. was the quarterback of the West Point football team, and later graduated in the top ten of his class. He passed up an appointment to the U.S. Army War College for a conventional infantry command at the company level. His determination to be "where the action is" brought him to the attention of G.I. Joe, and he was eventually assigned to the G.I. Joe team. He took part in several missions for the team, including defending Pit III from an attack led by Cobra Commander.
MUX History:[]
Captain Grid-Iron was stationed in Sudan with several other Joes during the Joe's worldwide recovery efforts. He remains there, working with the US Army in continued recovery efforts while remaining a reserve member of G.I. Joe.
